National Fraternity Sponsoring New Fall Program

The National Fraternity is proud to sponsor the first-ever New Member Forum this fall.  Session One will be held in the Omaha, Nebraska, area on Saturday, September 16.  Session Two will be held in the St. Louis, Missouri, area on Saturday, September 30.  All associate members, membership educators, scholarship chairs, and active and alumni members interested in associate and active membership education are strongly encouraged to attend one of the sessions, preferably one that works around your school’s football schedule.

There will be separate programming tracks for associate and active members.  Active members will engage in discussions about membership education, both in terms of learning about the fraternity, academics, and lifelong learning.  Associate members will have the opportunity to gather together and discuss what it means to be in the early stages of membership in Beta Sigma Psi.  The programming will end in the early afternoon, and, in the afternoon and early evening, the National Fraternity will sponsor an ultimate Frisbee tournament that is open for all Beta Sigs.

More details will become available in the coming weeks via e-mail to all chapter presidents.  If you have any questions in the meantime, please feel free to contact Kevin Stinn at leadershipdirector@betasigmapsi.org

New National Awards Process In Place

The National Board of Directors is happy to announce a change in the National Fraternity awards process.  Effective immediately, awards applications will be based on work over the calendar year as opposed to the academic year.  This means that awards applications will be due in January, with awards being announced and distributed at the 2007 Membership Educational Forum.  The next round of awards will take this past spring’s work into consideration.

Awards applications will be available later in the semester online.  Only electronic submissions will be accepted.  If there are questions about the new awards process, please contact Kevin Stinn at leadershipdirector@betasigmapsi.org

All Active and Alumni Chapter Forms Available Online

Starting this semester, all active and alumni chapters must submit all forms electronically in order for them to be properly accepted.  These forms as well as the dates for submission may be obtained at http://www.betasigmapsi.org/forms.html.  If you have problems accessing these forms, please contact either Kevin Stinn (leadershipdirector@betasigmapsi.org) or Chad Pfister (president@betasigmapsi.org).

Fundraising Opportunity for Educational Foundation

Now you can raise money for the Beta Sigma Psi Educational Foundation just by searching the Internet at GoodSearch.com.

You use GoodSearch.com like any other search engine - the site is powered by Yahoo! - but each time you do, money is generated for us.  Here’s how it works:

1.      Go to www.goodsearch.com

2.      Type Beta Sigma Psi into the “I support” box and click on “verify”

3.      Search the Internet just like you would with any search engine

4.      Since GoodSearch shares its advertising revenue with charities and schools, every time you search the Internet at GoodSearch, you’ll be earning money for us.

5.      GoodSearch also has a toolbar you can download from the homepage so that you can search right from the top of your browser.  Go to the GoodSearch.com Toolbar and follow the instructions on how to download the toolbar to your computer!

You can keep track of our estimated earnings by clicking on “amount raised” once you designate us as your organization of choice.  We estimate that each search will generate approximately $0.01 for the Educational Foundation. If we can get 1,000 supporters searching twice a day we would receive an estimated $7,300 per year.  Even if we had 100 supporters searching twice a day we would earn an estimated $730.

The sky is the limit, though – the more people who use the site, the more money we’ll earn, so please spread the word!!
