New National Award Established
The Beta Sigma Psi Educational Foundation is pleased to
announce the creation of a new National award for the cycle of awards to be
presented in early 2008. The family of Timothy R. Kettler has decided to
expand the Eta Chapter program they had created 15 years ago, to include all
Beta Sigma Psi chapters. The new award is called the Timothy R. Kettler
Christian Leadership Award, and will be presented to the junior-year member
who demonstrates the highest level of Christian leadership each year.
The award will include a $2000 scholarship. The application form
and instructions will be made available early next year, and will be
introduced at the Leadership
Academy in January.
The Educational Foundation greatly thanks Ron and Linda Kettler for funding this
program in memory of their son, Timothy. Timothy was a member of Eta Chapter
and tragically died in a car accident in 1990. Because of the great brotherhood
and love Timothy shared with the other members of Eta Chapter, Ron and Linda
created the program recognize those who are exemplary models of what Beta
Sigma Psi stands for.

Chairman
2007 Leadership Academy
Registration Still Available
The National
Fraternity will once again be conducting its Leadership
Academy January 13-14, 2007, at Camp Wartburg
(near Waterloo, IL).
Presidents, recruitment chairmen, and up-and-coming leaders in our
active chapters are invited to attend this retreat-style event, which, for
the first time, will be held over Martin Luther King, Jr. weekend.
Three separate tracks of programming will be available for the three
aforementioned groups. Presidents and
recruitment chairmen will attend for free, while up-and-coming leaders’
registration fee will cost only $50.
Registration forms are still available online, but time is running out
to apply. The Leadership Academy
will be an excellent opportunity to learn leadership and management skills,
interact with members from other chapters, and formulate ways to help your
chapter, and we still hope to see lots of members apply!
2007 MEF/NBT To Be
Hosted by Alpha-Alpha Chapter
Alpha Alpha Chapter
will be hosting the 2007 Membership Education Forum and National Basketball
Tournament, February 16-18, in Fremont,
Nebraska.
The MEF will be divided into two parts.
The morning session will see collegiate and alumni members divided
into discussion groups on various issues and topics that affect our chapters
today. The session following lunch
will focus on what it means to be a brother in Beta Sigma Psi and how our
relationships are affected by some of the issues that continue to plague
fraternities. The NBT will be a
round-robin tournament held at Midland
Lutheran College’s
brand-new Event
Center.
Active chapter presidents will be receiving more information in the mail in
the following weeks. If you have any
suggestions or requests for MEF discussion topics, please contact Kevin Stinn
at leadershipdirector@betasigmapsi.org. If you have any general questions about the
MEF or NBT, please contact Kevin Stinn or Alpha Alpha Chapter President Dusty
Stehl at stehldt@mlc.edu.

Fundraising Opportunity for Educational Foundation
Now you can raise money for the Beta Sigma Psi Educational Foundation just by searching the Internet at GoodSearch.com.

You use GoodSearch.com like any other
search engine - the site is powered by Yahoo! - but each time you do, money
is generated for us. Here’s how it works:
1. Go to www.goodsearch.com
2. Type Beta Sigma Psi
into the “I support” box and click on “verify”
3. Search the Internet just like you would with any
search engine
4. Since GoodSearch shares its advertising revenue
with charities and schools, every time you search the Internet at GoodSearch,
you’ll be earning money for us.
5. GoodSearch also has a toolbar you can download
from the homepage so that you can search right from the top of your
browser. Go to the GoodSearch.com Toolbar and
follow the instructions on how to download the toolbar to your computer!
You can keep track of
our estimated earnings by clicking on “amount raised” once you designate us
as your organization of choice. We
estimate that each search will generate approximately $0.01 for the
Educational Foundation. If we can get 1,000 supporters searching twice a day
we would receive an estimated $7,300 per year. Even if we had 100
supporters searching twice a day we would earn an estimated $730.
The sky is the limit, though – the more people who use the site, the more
money we’ll earn, so please spread the word!!
